Olímpico le dio un golpe corto y exacto a Regatas

The game was decided by a triple from Gramajo and a fierce final stretch. Olímpico de La Banda defeated Regatas Corrientes 83-80, achieved its second consecutive victory in the Liga Nacional and left the Remero with its first loss in the local competition.

A start that caught everyone off guard

Olímpico came out with authority. In the first four minutes, it already led 16-3 and closed the first quarter ahead 25-16. The Bandeños imposed their pace from the outset and made it clear that they would not give Regatas an easy game.

Regatas reacted in the second quarter. The defense was adjusted, the visitors found open shots in attack and reduced the gap. By halftime, the scoreboard showed a narrow 42-39 lead for Olímpico.

The third quarter was balanced. Olímpico continued to press defensively and kept creating offensive options, but the visitors managed the advantage and entered the final period leading 61-57.

Then came the most intense stretch. Regatas tied the game at 64 with two minutes remaining. Shortly after, a triple from Gramajo put the Correntinos ahead for the first time, 67-64. The joy lasted very little: the Santiagueños drew level again and won the duel from the line in an 83-80 finish.

The decisive figures were clear. Gramajo finished with 25 points and was Regatas' leading scorer. Austin Wrighten led the visitors with 18, while Jeremías Frontera contributed 17 and became key in the closing minutes. From the field, Olímpico was highly efficient: it converted 21 of 28 two-point attempts and 10 of 24 three-pointers.

The next weekend brings new challenges. Regatas will travel to Buenos Aires to play against Lanús and Boca. Olímpico, meanwhile, will close its visit to Corrientes with a match against San Martín.
